The Watchung Board of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Barbara Resko has been named Superintendent of Schools effective July 1, 2012, also retaining the position of Director of Special Services. Prior to her current role as Principal of Valley View and Director of Special Services for Watchung, Dr. Resko has served as Superintendent/Principal in Atlantic Highlands, Director of Special Services in Watchung and in Bloomfield, and teacher at WHRHS. Dr.Resko's skills and experience supersede the criteria the District was seeking for the position and she is already a valued part of the Watchung Public Schools administrative team.
The position of Principal in the District will be a combined pre-K through 8 position encompassing both buildings. The Board is pleased to announce that Mrs. Mary Nunn will assume this position, effective July 1, 2012. Her office will be located at Valley View School. An Assistant Principal will be hired and will be housed at Bayberry School. This structure will enable us to move to the next level of excellence by increasing the continuity between the two schools and maintaining highly skilled, experienced leadership throughout the District.
The Board is now seeking to fill the position of Business Administrator with the pending retirement of Dianne Faucher effective
August 31, 2012.
We look forward to the support of our staff and community during this transition.
