Dear Parents and School Community Members,
We are excited to welcome back our students on Wednesday, September 1. Yesterday, the principals sent messages with important school-specific information, and access to Genesis was made available for families. Information will follow about the district’s before/after care program.
At the board meeting last night, I shared the district update on the start of school. The presentation and the video of the meeting are on the website. I want to emphasize again that we were successful in creating a safe environment last year thanks to everyone’s commitment, and this year will require the same commitment to teamwork in following the health and safety protocols. Please remember the most important thing parents can do to keep our community safe is to keep their children home, if they are sick. As outlined in last night’s presentation, we need all families to agree to screen their children at home on a daily basis. Likewise, based on our local health official’s recommendation, we will continue to enforce the quarantine period for unvaccinated individuals pursuant to the CDC’s travel recommendations. Please contact your child’s school if you have questions.
In addition, we want to thank Mrs. Michele Posehn for her dedicated service on the board of education this past year and wish her and her family the best as they relocate out of state. Mrs. Posehn resigned from her position as a board member at last night’s meeting. The board will begin accepting applications for the open position soon. Please look for a message from our board secretary, Mr. Pepe, with information about the process.
Thank you for your ongoing support. You have our best wishes for a wonderful start to the school year.
