 Office of the Superintendent

August 17, 2020

Dear Parents,

First, I want to thank everyone for responding to our request for your instructional model selection. We are hard at work planning the schedules and want you to know that you will be receiving welcome back messages from your child’s principal by the end of August.

Meanwhile, as you may already know, we are in the process of transitioning to a new student information system (SIS), known as Genesis. It is a popular system among districts in New Jersey and is the one used by all of the regional districts. Moving to Genesis will not only help us facilitate scheduling, attendance recordkeeping, and grading more efficiently, it will strengthen our communication with you through the online parent portal. We will be providing you with all the school-opening information through Genesis, and you will be able to complete required digital forms through the system. Once in-person instruction begins, all daily health screenings will also be done electronically.

Within the next week, you will receive a message from Genesis with more information, including your username and temporary password, as well as instructions on how to access the portal. The system is easy to use, but our staff will be available to help you with any questions or issues that arise.

I also want you to know that our next board meeting is Monday, August 24 at 7:30 pm.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience.

George P. Alexis
Superintendent
