Dear Parents and School Community Members,
At its meeting last night, the Board of Education approved July 14 as the date of the modified eighth-grade graduation ceremony. Thank you to all the eighth-grade parents who responded to the survey. More information, including an invitation with a request for an RSVP, will be sent to eighth-grade families by Principal Kidd. Please be sure to respond, so we can plan accordingly. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation with the health and safety protocols. Given the surges in cases around the country, we have to be extra cautious.
Now that we have the state’s reopening guidance, we are carefully examining the requirements and options for a return to some form of in-person instruction in September. The social distancing restrictions and health protocols have created serious challenges for the classroom and busing. We are developing surveys for families and staff, which will gather feedback on health and safety protocols, in-person instruction, hybrid scheduling, and distance learning. Your responses will provide critical information for us in the planning process. Please look for a survey in your email in the coming days.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I hope you are enjoying a safe summer.
Very truly yours,
George P. Alexis
