Dear Parents and School Community Members,
As we conclude the first week of distance learning, we extend our sincere gratitude to our students, teachers, and families for their hard work in making our initial plan a success.
We are looking forward and working together to improve the plan, which is evolving naturally as any good instruction does. Already in the first week, teachers have experimented with video and audio connections to their classes, and the principals have sent video messages to teachers and students. In considering the reality that the closure may extend well beyond April 12, we are looking for ways to enhance teaching and learning across all grade levels in age-appropriate ways. We will continue to explore all options and provide you with updates next week.
As mentioned in my message on Wednesday, we have created a list of social and emotional resources for students and adults and placed it on the district website. We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and if we can assist your family in any way, please let us know.
Please continue to check your email and our website. We continue to update our COVID-19 Communications and Resources dedicated webpage. The board, administration, and the staff remain committed to excellence in the delivery of instruction and invested in the social and emotional health of your child during this challenging time.
Thank you for your ongoing support and for modeling collaboration, positivity, and resilience for our students. We hope you have a peaceful weekend.
Very truly yours,
George P. Alexis
