 Office of the Superintendent

November 13, 2020

Dear Parents and School Community Members,

At last night’s board of education meeting, we welcomed our newest board member, Ms. Amber Murad, who was sworn in to fill the current vacancy. We also were very pleased to congratulate our newly elected board members--Ms. Murad, Mrs. Posehn, and Mr. Mobus--who will begin their three-year terms in January.

As we move closer to the holiday season, I want to express again my deep gratitude for everyone’s cooperation during these trying times. Your support is critical. I also want to emphasize that we continue to make the health and safety of our students and staff our top priority. We are following our health and safety protocols, including adherence to our daily cleaning routines, and engaging in regular communication with our local health official.

With that in mind and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I want to remind parents about our requirement that families traveling to one of the states on NJ’s travel advisory list keep their children home for the 14-day quarantine period and advise their child’s school. In addition, a child who has been potentially exposed to the virus outside of school or been deemed a close contact must follow the 14-day quarantine, and the parents must let their child’s school know. We urge parents to err on the side of caution and to be transparent when completing the screening forms, which contain a section that addresses these situations.

Together, I know we can keep our community safe and our schools open. Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and support. Have a great weekend.

Very truly yours,

George P. Alexis
Superintendent
